SUNY Plattsburgh Clubs

Student run clubs and organizations encourage environmental stewardship among peers. Environmental Action Committee, Wildlife Club, Botany Club, Garden Club, and countless other groups work throughout the semesters to volunteer at and learn from Rugar Woods.

Community Groups

Local community groups work to encourage outdoor recreation and provide education opportunities to the Plattsburgh community. We would like to especially thank the Lake Champlain Basin Program for funding the Interpretive trail signs.

Rugar Woods is a tract of land operated by SUNY Plattsburgh and open for the general public. Interpretive and wayfinding trail signs are posted to educate users about local ecology.
